27,400 registered bed nights

In December 2020, 27,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Sigtuna (-58.3 %), of which 19,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 64 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 24 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 58 percent from last year's December.

8,100 rooms (-65.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,100 rooms (-71.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 339,000 registered bed nights (-56.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 86,600 (-44.2 %) for foreigners in Sigtuna, in total 426,000 (-54.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (-47.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.6 million nights (-40.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 208,000 nights (-72.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sigtuna out of total registered bed nights was 1.5 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 3.7 %.

Length of stay increased 59 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 59 percent compared to earlier year. In Sigtuna, length of stay in December was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.8 nights (+37.5 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.9 nights (+14.6 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+21.6 %).

13,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 74 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 74.6 percent were domestic, and 25.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sigtuna on average 1.9 nights (+0.69) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.77).
