Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In May 2022, 29,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Simrishamn (+7.0 %), of which 26,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 210 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's May.

7,000 rooms (+8.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+30.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 51,800 registered bed nights (+0.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,400 (+142.7 %) for foreigners in Simrishamn, in total 56,100 (+5.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Simrishamn out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

15,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.6 percent were domestic, and 9.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Simrishamn on average 1.9 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.16).
