Registered bed nights increased 11 percent

In August 2021, 59,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Simrishamn (+11.3 %), of which 52,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 173 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's August.

13,000 rooms (+13.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 840 rooms (+17.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 224,000 registered bed nights (+14.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,700 (+98.6 %) for foreigners in Simrishamn, in total 238,000 (+17.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Simrishamn out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 79 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 79 percent compared to earlier year. In Simrishamn, length of stay in August was on average 3.6 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-3.6 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Simrishamn on average 3.4 nights (+67.9 %) and foreigners 5.8 nights (+121.8 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 38 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.2 percent were domestic, and 6.8 percent were from foreign countries.
