Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 12 percent

In March 2018, 355,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Skåne County (+11.9 %), of which 260,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 94,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 32 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's March.

75,100 rooms (+8.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 130,000 rooms (-2.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 674,000 registered bed nights (+6.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 235,000 (+20.3 %) for foreigners in Skåne County, in total 909,000 (+10.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 7.6 percent

Total of 4.7 million registered bed nights (+12.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.7 million nights (+7.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.0 million nights (+32.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skåne County out of total registered bed nights was 7.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 7.1 % and foreign bed nights 9.3 %.

Length of stay increased five percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. In Skåne County, length of stay in March was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+5.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 1.8 nights (+3.2 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+4.6 %).

188,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.2 percent were domestic, and 22.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 1.8 nights (+0.08) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.07).
