Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased five percent

In November 2018, 366,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Skåne County (+5.3 %), of which 277,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 89,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 18 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's November.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (16,100 nights).

87,600 rooms (+13.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 135,000 rooms (-5.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 4.4 million registered bed nights (+3.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1.6 million (+13.0 %) for foreigners in Skåne County, in total 5.9 million (+5.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 10.4 percent

Total of 3.5 million registered bed nights (+2.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+0.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 784,000 nights (+9.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skåne County out of total registered bed nights was 10.4 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 10.1 % and foreign bed nights 11.4 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Skåne County, length of stay in November was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-2.5 %).

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 1.7 nights (+0.5 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+1.7 %).

207,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 79.8 percent were domestic, and 20.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 1.7 nights (-0.08) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.04).
