141,000 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 141,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Skåne County (-66.6 %), of which 127,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 13,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 60 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 87 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 67 percent from last year's April.

34,000 rooms (-68.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 30,100 rooms (-74.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 772,000 registered bed nights (-22.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 200,000 (-39.6 %) for foreigners in Skåne County, in total 972,000 (-27.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 11.1 percent

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (-70.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-65.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 114,000 nights (-88.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skåne County out of total registered bed nights was 11.1 % (+1.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 11.0 % and foreign bed nights 12.1 %.

Length of stay increased 24 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 24 percent compared to earlier year. In Skåne County, length of stay in April was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+16.7 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 2.2 nights (+9.1 %) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+2.2 %).

60,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 73 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.0 percent were domestic, and 7.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 2.2 nights (+0.45) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+1.1).
