Paid bed nights

275,000 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 275,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Skåne County (-52.7 %), of which 250,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 25,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 44 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 81 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 53 percent from last year's May.

50,900 rooms (-62.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 36,400 rooms (-76.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 1.0 million registered bed nights (-29.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 225,000 (-51.6 %) for foreigners in Skåne County, in total 1.2 million (-34.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 12.3 percent

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (-58.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (-49.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 176,000 nights (-86.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skåne County out of total registered bed nights was 12.3 % (+1.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 12.1 % and foreign bed nights 14.3 %.

Length of stay increased 30 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. In Skåne County, length of stay in May was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 2.3 nights (+14.4 %) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+5.7 %).

118,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 64 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.9 percent were domestic, and 8.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 2.3 nights (+0.58) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.59).
