136,000 registered bed nights

In December 2020, 136,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Skåne County (-54.4 %), of which 117,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 18,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 47 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 75 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 54 percent from last year's December.

43,100 rooms (-50.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 33,700 rooms (-62.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 3.9 million registered bed nights (-19.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 588,000 (-66.3 %) for foreigners in Skåne County, in total 4.5 million (-31.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (-47.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.6 million nights (-40.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 208,000 nights (-72.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skåne County out of total registered bed nights was 7.5 % (-1.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 7.3 % and foreign bed nights 9.0 %.

Length of stay increased 19 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. In Skåne County, length of stay in December was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.8 nights (+37.5 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 2.0 nights (+11.7 %) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+6.9 %).

63,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 62 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.0 percent were domestic, and 10.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 2.0 nights (+0.31) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+0.91).
