Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 74 percent

In April 2022, 441,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Skåne County (+74.5 %), of which 359,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 81,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 60 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 185 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 74 percent from last year's April.

117,000 rooms (+67.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 113,000 rooms (+127.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 970,000 registered bed nights (+50.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 229,000 (+156.2 %) for foreigners in Skåne County, in total 1.2 million (+63.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 10.5 percent

Total of 4.2 million registered bed nights (+64.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+46.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 791,000 nights (+260.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skåne County out of total registered bed nights was 10.5 % (+0.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 10.5 % and foreign bed nights 10.3 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Skåne County, length of stay in April was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-23.8 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 1.8 nights (-12.1 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-42.5 %).

245,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 100 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.9 percent were domestic, and 18.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skåne County on average 1.8 nights (-0.18) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-1.4).
