Registered bed nights increased 47 percent

In May 2022, 7,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Skara (+46.6 %), of which 5,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 880 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 47 percent from last year's May.

2,400 rooms (+51.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,200 rooms (+42.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 17,800 registered bed nights (+31.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,300 (+1,328.1 %) for foreigners in Skara, in total 24,000 (+72.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.1 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skara out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

4,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 49 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 83.1 percent were domestic, and 16.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skara on average 1.6 nights (-0.11) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.06).
