Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased three percent

In June 2019, 22,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Skara (+2.8 %), of which 20,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 51 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (1,100 nights).

2,500 rooms (+39.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,900 rooms (+30.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 44,500 registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,600 (+39.0 %) for foreigners in Skara, in total 47,100 (+5.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skara out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 4.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 20 percent compared to earlier year. In Skara, length of stay in June was on average 4.6 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+4.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skara on average 4.6 nights (-7.4 %) and foreigners 4.4 nights (-12.2 %).

4,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 28 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.8 percent were domestic, and 7.2 percent were from foreign countries.
