Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In August 2019, 27,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Skara (+8.7 %), of which 20,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 710 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (2,800 nights).

2,700 rooms (+17.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,400 rooms (-0.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 119,000 registered bed nights (-9.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,100 (+175.1 %) for foreigners in Skara, in total 140,000 (+0.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skara out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Skara, length of stay in August was on average 4.8 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skara on average 3.9 nights (-18.0 %) and foreigners 17 nights (+69.2 %).

5,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.8 percent were domestic, and 7.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skara on average 3.9 nights (-0.72) and foreigners 17 nights (+13).
