17,600 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 17,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Skellefteå (-36.0 %), of which 15,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 67 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 36 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (530 nights).

2,200 rooms (-34.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,700 rooms (-13.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 184,000 registered bed nights (-17.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,700 (-85.2 %) for foreigners in Skellefteå, in total 201,000 (-41.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skellefteå out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

7,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 32 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.9 percent were domestic, and 8.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skellefteå on average 2.1 nights (+0.09) and foreigners 3.9 nights (-0.83).
