14,000 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 14,000 bed nights were recorded in Skellefteå (-26.8 %), of which 12,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 28 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 17 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 27 percent from last year's March.

1,800 rooms (-30.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,300 rooms (-24.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 41,900 bed nights (-15.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,400 (+4.3 %) for foreigners in Skellefteå, in total 48,300 (-13.0 %) nights.

Total of 2.8 million bed nights (-37.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-33.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 405,000 nights (-54.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skellefteå out of total bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

5,600 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 42 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 90.8 percent were domestic, and 9.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skellefteå on average 2.5 nights (+0.48) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+0.89).
