13,800 registered bed nights

In December 2019, 13,800 bed nights were recorded in Skellefteå (-12.1 %), of which 12,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 17 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 12 percent from last year's December.

2,800 rooms (+12.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,000 rooms (+4.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 269,000 bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 126,000 (+7.3 %) for foreigners in Skellefteå, in total 394,000 (+3.0 %) nights.

Total of 3.5 million bed nights (+0.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 764,000 nights (-2.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skellefteå out of total bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

7,400 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 88.7 percent were domestic, and 11.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skellefteå on average 1.8 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.26).
