Registered bed nights increased 134 percent

In April 2021, 18,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Skellefteå (+133.9 %), of which 15,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 120 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 280 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 134 percent from last year's April.

2,000 rooms (+119.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,300 rooms (+228.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 58,000 registered bed nights (+18.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,800 (+9.3 %) for foreigners in Skellefteå, in total 65,800 (+17.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skellefteå out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

5,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 107 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.3 percent were domestic, and 7.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skellefteå on average 3.2 nights (+0.3) and foreigners 6.5 nights (+0.09).
