Registered bed nights increased 15 percent
In August 2022, 61,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Skellefteå (+15.4 %), of which 37,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 23,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased six percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 83 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's August.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (16,100 nights).
6,300 rooms (+57.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 12,400 rooms (-7.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 250,000 registered bed nights (+10.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 138,000 (+159.7 %) for foreigners in Skellefteå, in total 388,000 (+38.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 67.7 percent were domestic, and 32.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skellefteå on average 2.4 nights (-0.41) and foreigners 3.2 nights (-0.47).
