Registered bed nights increased 71 percent

In September 2021, 30,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Skellefteå (+71.0 %), of which 23,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 55 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 170 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 71 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (870 nights).

3,700 rooms (+72.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 14,100 rooms (+62.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 250,000 registered bed nights (+36.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 59,900 (+238.6 %) for foreigners in Skellefteå, in total 310,000 (+54.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skellefteå out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

10,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.6 percent were domestic, and 12.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skellefteå on average 2.5 nights (+0.44) and foreigners 5.2 nights (+1.2).
