Paid bed nights

10,500 registered bed nights

In December 2018, 10,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Skövde (-16.3 %), of which 8,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 22 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 28 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 16 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from India (164 nights).

2,800 rooms (-10.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,200 rooms (-13.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 193,000 registered bed nights (+6.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 31,200 (+4.5 %) for foreigners in Skövde, in total 224,000 (+5.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skövde out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 20 percent compared to earlier year. In Skövde, length of stay in December was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skövde on average 1.4 nights (+5.2 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-10.9 %).

7,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.1 percent were domestic, and 12.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skövde on average 1.4 nights (-0.39) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.61).
