Paid bed nights

17,600 registered bed nights

In September 2019, 17,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Skövde (-2.6 %), of which 14,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 56 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased three percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (360 nights).

4,400 rooms (-3.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,200 rooms (+5.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 150,000 registered bed nights (-2.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 26,800 (+5.4 %) for foreigners in Skövde, in total 177,000 (-1.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Skövde out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Skövde, length of stay in September was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Skövde on average 1.8 nights (-3.0 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-2.1 %).

9,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.5 percent were domestic, and 12.5 percent were from foreign countries.
