4,900 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 4,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Sodankylä (-70.4 %), of which 4,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 143 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 61 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 97 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 70 percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (84 nights).

3,000 nights (-75.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,800 nights (-57.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 25,800 registered bed nights (-49.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 48,700 (-39.7 %) for foreigners in Sodankylä, in total 74,500 (-43.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 1.1 million registered bed nights (-50.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-36.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 50,900 nights (-91.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sodankylä out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

2,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 68 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.6 percent were domestic, and 2.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sodankylä on average 1.8 nights (-0.58) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.95).
