Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 18 percent

In August 2021, 26,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Söderköping (+17.8 %), of which 22,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 300 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 18 percent from last year's August.

2,400 rooms (+143.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 590 rooms (+523.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 89,500 registered bed nights (+7.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,800 (+305.5 %) for foreigners in Söderköping, in total 98,200 (+14.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Söderköping out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 14 percent compared to earlier year. In Söderköping, length of stay in August was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-3.6 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Söderköping on average 2.0 nights (-8.1 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-9.3 %).

13,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 37 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.8 percent were domestic, and 14.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Söderköping on average 2.0 nights (-0.36) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.06).
