Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased eight percent

In June 2018, 136,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Södermanland County (+8.5 %), of which 118,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 17,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 10 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's June.

23,300 rooms (-4.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,700 rooms (-0.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 459,000 registered bed nights (+14.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 55,200 (+15.2 %) for foreigners in Södermanland County, in total 514,000 (+14.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.1 percent

Total of 6.6 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.7 million nights (+2.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.0 million nights (+4.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södermanland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Södermanland County, length of stay in June was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+0.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 1.8 nights (+3.5 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+12.2 %).

72,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.3 percent were domestic, and 10.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 1.8 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+0.06).
