Paid bed nights

55,900 registered bed nights

In February 2019, 55,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Södermanland County (-1.4 %), of which 51,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased less than one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 15 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (410 nights).

13,000 rooms (+1.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 16,500 rooms (-10.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 98,100 registered bed nights (-1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,300 (+15.0 %) for foreigners in Södermanland County, in total 109,000 (+0.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.3 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (+3.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 954,000 nights (+0.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södermanland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Södermanland County, length of stay in February was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-1.2 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 1.8 nights (+4.8 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-16.5 %).

30,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.0 percent were domestic, and 7.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 1.8 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.25).
