111,000 registered bed nights

In May 2019, 111,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Södermanland County (-9.4 %), of which 95,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 15,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 13 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased nine percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,600 nights).

23,200 rooms (+12.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 22,600 rooms (-5.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 317,000 registered bed nights (-7.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 41,700 (+11.1 %) for foreigners in Södermanland County, in total 359,000 (-5.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.3 million registered bed nights (+3.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.1 million nights (+6.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.3 million nights (-5.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södermanland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.1 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.4 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Södermanland County, length of stay in May was on average 1.7 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-5.1 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 1.7 nights (+1.9 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-29.0 %).

65,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.8 percent were domestic, and 12.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 1.7 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.67).
