36,500 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 36,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Södermanland County (-45.8 %), of which 33,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 45 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 54 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 46 percent from last year's March.

7,800 rooms (-48.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 12,500 rooms (-38.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 128,000 registered bed nights (-18.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,600 (-21.5 %) for foreigners in Södermanland County, in total 143,000 (-19.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.8 million registered bed nights (-37.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-33.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 406,000 nights (-54.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södermanland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Södermanland County, length of stay in March was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.7 nights (+19.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 1.9 nights (-4.1 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+16.6 %).

18,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 50 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.5 percent were domestic, and 8.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 1.9 nights (+0.1) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.52).
