Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 35 percent

In May 2021, 81,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Södermanland County (+35.1 %), of which 76,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 34 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 45 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 35 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (580 nights).

15,100 rooms (+93.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 12,300 rooms (+31.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 191,000 registered bed nights (-9.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,400 (-6.5 %) for foreigners in Södermanland County, in total 211,000 (-9.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södermanland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.5 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.5 % and foreign bed nights 2.0 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Södermanland County, length of stay in May was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 2.0 nights (-3.6 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-20.3 %).

41,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 55 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.7 percent were domestic, and 8.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södermanland County on average 2.0 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.86).
