Registered bed nights increased 90 percent

In May 2022, 26,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Södertälje (+89.7 %), of which 21,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 76 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 184 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 90 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (970 nights).

6,600 rooms (+121.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,700 rooms (+142.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 71,800 registered bed nights (+51.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 16,200 (+77.4 %) for foreigners in Södertälje, in total 88,000 (+55.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södertälje out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

13,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 123 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.7 percent were domestic, and 15.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södertälje on average 1.8 nights (-0.32) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.99).
