15,400 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 15,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Södertälje (-40.1 %), of which 12,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 32 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 63 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 40 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (850 nights).

3,200 rooms (-52.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,800 rooms (-36.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 116,000 registered bed nights (-37.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 19,700 (-72.5 %) for foreigners in Södertälje, in total 135,000 (-47.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södertälje out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

7,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 45 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.6 percent were domestic, and 12.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södertälje on average 1.9 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.64).
