25,800 registered bed nights

In September 2019, 25,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Södertälje (-6.9 %), of which 18,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 19 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased seven percent from last year's September.

6,100 rooms (-2.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,000 rooms (+4.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 184,000 registered bed nights (-2.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 71,600 (-12.8 %) for foreigners in Södertälje, in total 255,000 (-5.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södertälje out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Södertälje, length of stay in September was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södertälje on average 2.0 nights (-9.3 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+3.0 %).

12,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 76.7 percent were domestic, and 23.3 percent were from foreign countries.
