8,800 registered bed nights

In December 2020, 8,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Södertälje (-46.3 %), of which 7,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 42 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 62 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 46 percent from last year's December.

1,800 rooms (-51.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,500 rooms (-44.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 145,000 registered bed nights (-38.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 26,300 (-69.4 %) for foreigners in Södertälje, in total 171,000 (-46.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (-47.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.6 million nights (-40.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 208,000 nights (-72.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södertälje out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay increased 50 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 50 percent compared to earlier year. In Södertälje, length of stay in December was on average 3.0 nights and in Sweden 2.8 nights (+37.5 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södertälje on average 2.8 nights (+16.1 %) and foreigners 4.2 nights (+16.2 %).

3,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 64 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.4 percent were domestic, and 11.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södertälje on average 2.8 nights (+0.95) and foreigners 4.2 nights (+1.7).
