Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased eight percent

In March 2021, 11,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Södertälje (+7.9 %), of which 9,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased two percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (460 nights).

2,100 rooms (+10.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,900 rooms (-2.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 26,500 registered bed nights (-29.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,600 (-38.8 %) for foreigners in Södertälje, in total 32,100 (-30.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södertälje out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

Length of stay increased 18 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 18 percent compared to earlier year. In Södertälje, length of stay in March was on average 2.8 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södertälje on average 2.6 nights (+26.1 %) and foreigners 4.4 nights (+72.4 %).

4,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.8 percent were domestic, and 11.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södertälje on average 2.6 nights (+0.36) and foreigners 4.4 nights (+1.2).
