Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 106 percent

In April 2022, 21,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Södertälje (+105.7 %), of which 17,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 100 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 133 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 106 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (480 nights).

5,400 rooms (+185.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,700 rooms (+105.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 50,300 registered bed nights (+42.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,200 (+51.6 %) for foreigners in Södertälje, in total 61,400 (+44.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.2 million registered bed nights (+64.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+46.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 791,000 nights (+260.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Södertälje out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 18 percent compared to earlier year. In Södertälje, length of stay in April was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-23.8 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södertälje on average 2.0 nights (-22.9 %) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-37.8 %).

10,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 150 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.5 percent were domestic, and 14.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Södertälje on average 2.0 nights (-0.37) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-1.6).
