Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 44 percent

In May 2021, 25,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Solna (+43.6 %), of which 22,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 80 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 36 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 44 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from India (760 nights).

8,500 rooms (+67.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,800 rooms (+38.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 89,600 registered bed nights (-19.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 27,900 (-31.6 %) for foreigners in Solna, in total 118,000 (-23.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Solna out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Solna, length of stay in May was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Solna on average 2.1 nights (+35.2 %) and foreigners 4.0 nights (+97.0 %).

11,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 60 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.3 percent were domestic, and 7.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Solna on average 2.1 nights (+0.23) and foreigners 4.0 nights (-5.6).
