Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 27 percent

In August 2020, 30,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Sölvesborg (+26.9 %), of which 30,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 34 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 57 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's August.

430 rooms (-24.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 290 rooms (-31.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 132,000 registered bed nights (+9.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,900 (-83.8 %) for foreigners in Sölvesborg, in total 134,000 (+1.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.1 million registered bed nights (-31.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.4 million nights (-10.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 615,000 nights (-77.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sölvesborg out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased 20 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 20 percent compared to earlier year. In Sölvesborg, length of stay in August was on average 3.2 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+6.0 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sölvesborg on average 3.2 nights (+29.4 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-2.4 %).

9,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.0 percent were domestic, and 4.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sölvesborg on average 3.2 nights (+0.48) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.18).
