Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 48 percent

In December 2021, 10,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Sør-Troms And Senja Region (+47.9 %), of which 8,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 360 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 48 percent from last year's December.

3,600 nights (+29.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,000 nights (+39.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 242,000 registered bed nights (+68.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 53,300 (+16.0 %) for foreigners in Sør-Troms And Senja Region, in total 295,000 (+55.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (+49.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 980,000 nights (+31.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 271,000 nights (+196.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sør-Troms And Senja Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Sør-Troms And Senja Region, length of stay in December was on average 2.1 nights and in Norway 2.2 nights (-10.3 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sør-Troms And Senja Region on average 2.1 nights (+8.2 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-4.3 %).

4,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 51 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.7 percent were domestic, and 17.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sør-Troms And Senja Region on average 2.1 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-1.4).
