Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 12 percent

In September 2019, 17,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Sotenäs (+12.1 %), of which 13,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 30 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (1,100 nights).

3,400 rooms (+35.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,100 rooms (+24.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 292,000 registered bed nights (+1.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 62,000 (-4.5 %) for foreigners in Sotenäs, in total 354,000 (+0.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sotenäs out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased two percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. In Sotenäs, length of stay in September was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sotenäs on average 1.7 nights (+2.9 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.1 %).

9,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.1 percent were domestic, and 18.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sotenäs on average 1.7 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.01).
