In December 2019, 65,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Sotkamo (-4.3 %), of which 57,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 30 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased four percent from last year's December.
61,100 nights (+18.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,500 nights (-73.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 699,000 registered bed nights (+7.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 65,100 (-0.1 %) for foreigners in Sotkamo, in total 765,000 (+6.6 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Sotkamo, length of stay in December was on average 4.0 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.9 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Sotkamo on average 4.0 nights (-0.5 %) and foreigners 4.1 nights (-8.1 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.0 percent were domestic, and 12.0 percent were from foreign countries.
