93,500 registered bed nights

In July 2021, 93,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Sotkamo (-0.9 %), of which 93,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 540 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 28 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's July.

88,800 nights (+0.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,700 nights (-20.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 444,000 registered bed nights (+15.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,800 (-43.2 %) for foreigners in Sotkamo, in total 456,000 (+12.1 %) registered nights.

Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+30.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 185,000 nights (+30.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sotkamo out of total registered bed nights was 2.8 % (-0.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.
