Registered bed nights increased one percent

In March 2023, 92,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Sotkamo (+1.0 %), of which 90,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 80 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased one percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (340 nights).

80,300 nights (-1.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 12,200 nights (+24.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 219,000 registered bed nights (+7.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,100 (-39.5 %) for foreigners in Sotkamo, in total 226,000 (+4.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (+7.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+1.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 482,000 nights (+27.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Sotkamo out of total registered bed nights was 4.9 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.
