Registered bed nights increased 28 percent
In February 2020, 42,900 bed nights were recorded in South Ostrobothnia (+27.9 %), of which 40,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 28 percent and foreign bed nights increased 31 percent. In total, bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's February.
30,400 nights (+39.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 12,500 nights (+7.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 72,900 bed nights (+29.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,200 (+14.2 %) for foreigners in South Ostrobothnia, in total 77,100 (+28.2 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

24,500 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 18 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 96.4 percent were domestic, and 3.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in South Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.01).

Registered accommodation sales in February were 2.0 million euro (+354,000).
Registered January-February sales were 3.7 million euro and they increased 558,000 euro from the previous year.
