71,300 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 71,300 registered bed nights were recorded in South Ostrobothnia (-33.3 %), of which 70,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 640 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 32 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 81 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 33 percent from last year's June.

63,600 nights (-27.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 7,700 nights (-60.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 180,000 registered bed nights (-38.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,600 (-47.4 %) for foreigners in South Ostrobothnia, in total 186,000 (-38.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 6.3 percent

Total of 1.1 million registered bed nights (-50.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-36.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 50,900 nights (-91.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of South Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 6.3 % (+1.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.3 %.

41,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 33 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.7 percent were domestic, and 0.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in South Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (+0.0) and foreigners 4.5 nights (+1.7).

Registered accommodation sales in June were 2.5 million euro (-1.6 million).

Registered January-June sales were 8.1 million euro and they decreased 5.0 million euro from the previous year.
