Registered bed nights increased 450 percent

In April 2021, 29,300 registered bed nights were recorded in South Ostrobothnia (+448.1 %), of which 28,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 940 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 460 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 186 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 450 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (280 nights).

22,400 nights (+788.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,900 nights (+144.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 93,600 registered bed nights (-4.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,000 (-46.3 %) for foreigners in South Ostrobothnia, in total 96,600 (-6.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.8 percent

Total of 780,000 registered bed nights (+310.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 727,000 nights (+319.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 53,100 nights (+216.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of South Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 3.8 % (+0.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.8 %.

14,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 430 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.2 percent were domestic, and 0.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in South Ostrobothnia on average 2.0 nights (+0.1) and foreigners 8.4 nights (+0.11).
