South Ostrobothnia: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased one percent
In June 2019, 101,000 bed nights were recorded in South Ostrobothnia (+1.5 %), of which 98,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased one percent and foreign bed nights increased 23 percent. In total, bed nights increased one percent from last year's June.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (830 nights).
81,900 nights (-4.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 19,600 nights (+37.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 275,000 bed nights (-1.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,600 (+4.8 %) for foreigners in South Ostrobothnia, in total 288,000 (-1.5 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

58,000 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 97.9 percent were domestic, and 2.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in South Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.28).

Accommodation sales 4.1 million euro
Registered accommodation sales in June were 4.1 million euro (+187,000).
Registered January-June sales were 13.1 million euro and they increased 250,000 euro from the previous year.
