Registered bed nights increased 25 percent

In July 2021, 221,000 registered bed nights were recorded in South Ostrobothnia (+25.2 %), of which 219,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 37 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 25 percent from last year's July.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (540 nights).

207,000 nights (+26.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 14,600 nights (+13.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 456,000 registered bed nights (+28.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,800 (+8.5 %) for foreigners in South Ostrobothnia, in total 465,000 (+27.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 6.6 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+30.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 185,000 nights (+30.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of South Ostrobothnia out of total registered bed nights was 6.6 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

128,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.5 percent were domestic, and 0.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in South Ostrobothnia on average 1.7 nights (+0.12) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+0.26).
