Total of 51,200 bed nights (-3.6 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in South Savonia in April 2023. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 55 % and non-registered 45 %.
Between January and April, the number of paid bed nights was 194,000 (+0.4 %). Share of registered was 59 % and non-registered 41 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
28,200 registered bed nights (April)
In April 2023, 28,200 registered bed nights were recorded in South Savonia (-9.7 %), of which 26,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 67 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 10 percent from last year's April.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (310 nights).
17,200 nights (-13.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,000 nights (-2.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 107,000 registered bed nights (-3.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,300 (+33.5 %) for foreigners in South Savonia, in total 114,000 (-2.2 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.6 percent were domestic, and 4.4 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in South Savonia on average 1.5 nights (-0.25) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.15).

Accommodation sales 2.5 million euro (April)
Total accommodation sales in April were 2.5 million euro (+22,300). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 33.9 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 1.6 million euro (-29,500) and non-registered sales 844,000 euro (+51,700).
Total January-April sales were 10.0 million euro and they increased 868,000 euro from the previous year.
