Southwest Finland: Tourism in a nutshell
39,900 registered bed nights (February)
In February 2021, 39,900 bed nights were recorded in Southwest Finland (-48.6 %), of which 38,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 42 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 88 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 49 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (470 nights).
30,700 nights (-37.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,200 nights (-67.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 70,400 bed nights (-41.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,300 (-84.9 %) for foreigners in Southwest Finland, in total 73,800 (-48.4 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

25,300 tourists arrived to accommodation (February)
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 46 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 97.8 percent were domestic, and 2.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Southwest Finland on average 1.6 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.34).

Registered accommodation sales in February were 2.2 million euro (-2.5 million).
Registered January-February sales were 3.9 million euro and they decreased 4.8 million euro from the previous year.
