18,100 registered bed nights (May)

In May 2020, 18,100 bed nights were recorded in Southwest Finland (-81.4 %), of which 17,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 900 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 78 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 95 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 81 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (360 nights).

9,500 nights (-84.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 8,700 nights (-75.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 183,000 bed nights (-43.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,000 (-56.8 %) for foreigners in Southwest Finland, in total 212,000 (-46.1 %) nights.

Market share 6.0 percent (May)

Total of 305,000 bed nights (-80.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 285,000 nights (-74.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 20,000 nights (-95.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Southwest Finland out of total bed nights was 6.0 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.1 % and foreign bed nights 4.5 %.

8,100 tourists arrived to accommodation (May)

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 86 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.7 percent were domestic, and 6.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Southwest Finland on average 2.3 nights (+0.69) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.44).

Registered accommodation sales in May were 805,000 euro (-5.0 million).

Registered January-May sales were 12.3 million euro and they decreased 10.8 million euro from the previous year.
