Southwest Finland: Tourism in a nutshell
197,000 registered bed nights (July)
In July 2020, 197,000 bed nights were recorded in Southwest Finland (-14.6 %), of which 190,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,700 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased two percent and foreign bed nights decreased 81 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 15 percent from last year's July.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (1,400 nights).
174,000 nights (-13.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 23,200 nights (-23.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and July, 458,000 bed nights (-28.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 41,600 (-67.9 %) for foreigners in Southwest Finland, in total 499,000 (-35.2 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 97.3 percent were domestic, and 2.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Southwest Finland on average 1.5 nights (-0.15) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.13).

Registered accommodation sales in July were 9.1 million euro (-2.1 million).
Registered January-July sales were 25.3 million euro and they decreased 17.0 million euro from the previous year.
