186,000 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 186,000 bed nights (+8.8 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Southwest Finland in June 2019. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 79 % and non-registered 21 %.
Between January and June, the number of paid bed nights was 677,000 (+2.9 %). Share of registered was 80 % and non-registered 20 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased four percent
In June 2019, 147,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Southwest Finland (+4.1 %), of which 120,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 26,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's June.
116,000 nights (+11.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 30,600 nights (-16.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 446,000 registered bed nights (+2.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 93,300 (-8.0 %) for foreigners in Southwest Finland, in total 539,000 (+0.7 %) registered nights.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Southwest Finland, length of stay in June was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (+0.4 %).
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Southwest Finland on average 1.7 nights (-3.6 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+7.0 %).
84,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.0 percent were domestic, and 16.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Southwest Finland on average 1.7 nights (-0.06) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.09).

Accommodation sales 9.1 million euro
Total accommodation sales in June were 9.1 million euro (+707,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 12.4 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 8.0 million euro (+391,000) and non-registered sales 1.1 million euro (+315,000).
Total January-June sales were 34.9 million euro and they increased 1.4 million euro from the previous year.
