Stavanger Region: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 21 percent
In August 2022, 232,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stavanger Region (+21.2 %), of which 145,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 87,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased six percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 136 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 21 percent from last year's August.
82,500 nights (+9.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 60,900 nights (+17.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 875,000 registered bed nights (+11.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 307,000 (+127.4 %) for foreigners in Stavanger Region, in total 1.2 million (+28.5 %) registered nights.

129,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 26 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 61.8 percent were domestic, and 38.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stavanger Region on average 1.8 nights (-0.08) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.02).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 158.8 million crowns (+74.1 million).
Registered January-August sales were 748.9 million crowns and they increased 278.0 million crowns from the previous year.
