Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 110 percent

In April 2021, 58,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Stavanger Region (+109.7 %), of which 46,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 12,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 121 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 75 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 110 percent from last year's April.

14,900 nights (+48.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 27,400 nights (+56.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 187,000 registered bed nights (-17.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 48,900 (-5.9 %) for foreigners in Stavanger Region, in total 236,000 (-15.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 6.6 percent

Total of 883,000 registered bed nights (+166.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 788,000 nights (+184.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 94,300 nights (+75.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stavanger Region out of total registered bed nights was 6.6 % (-1.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.9 % and foreign bed nights 12.8 %.

Length of stay was 2.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 26 percent compared to earlier year. In Stavanger Region, length of stay in April was on average 2.3 nights and in Norway 2.8 nights (-3.0 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stavanger Region on average 2.1 nights (+20.0 %) and foreigners 4.1 nights (+39.5 %).

25,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 183 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.2 percent were domestic, and 11.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stavanger Region on average 2.1 nights (-0.68) and foreigners 4.1 nights (-1.1).

Registered January-April sales were 153.6 million crowns and they decreased 54.9 million crowns from the previous year.
