Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In July 2021, 274,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stavanger Region (+6.0 %), of which 248,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 26,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 15 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's July.

136,000 nights (+4.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 52,300 nights (-11.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and July, 630,000 registered bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 98,100 (+0.2 %) for foreigners in Stavanger Region, in total 728,000 (+1.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 4.1 percent

Total of 6.6 million registered bed nights (+3.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+3.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 549,000 nights (+14.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stavanger Region out of total registered bed nights was 4.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.1 % and foreign bed nights 4.9 %.

Length of stay increased two percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. In Stavanger Region, length of stay in July was on average 2.0 nights and in Norway 2.2 nights (+7.7 %).

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stavanger Region on average 2.0 nights (+7.3 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+7.5 %).

139,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.4 percent were domestic, and 10.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stavanger Region on average 2.0 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.19).

Registered January-July sales were 385.9 million crowns and they decreased 3.6 million crowns from the previous year.
