Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 25 percent

In October 2021, 135,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stavanger Region (+24.7 %), of which 112,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 22,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 18 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 71 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 25 percent from last year's October.

50,500 nights (+23.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 61,000 nights (+19.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 1.0 million registered bed nights (+9.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 177,000 (+14.6 %) for foreigners in Stavanger Region, in total 1.2 million (+10.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.7 percent

Total of 2.4 million registered bed nights (+57.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (+50.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 306,000 nights (+120.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stavanger Region out of total registered bed nights was 5.7 % (-1.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.5 % and foreign bed nights 7.4 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Stavanger Region, length of stay in October was on average 2.0 nights and in Norway 1.9 nights (-5.9 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stavanger Region on average 1.9 nights (+5.4 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-2.5 %).

68,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.1 percent were domestic, and 14.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stavanger Region on average 1.9 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 2.2 nights (0.0).
