Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased two percent

In June 2018, 1.4 million registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm County (+2.0 %), of which 768,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 613,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's June.

385,000 rooms (+7.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 382,000 rooms (+4.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 4.1 million registered bed nights (+1.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2.5 million (+8.4 %) for foreigners in Stockholm County, in total 6.6 million (+3.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 20.9 percent

Total of 6.6 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.7 million nights (+2.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.0 million nights (+4.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm County out of total registered bed nights was 20.9 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 16.5 % and foreign bed nights 31.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Stockholm County, length of stay in June was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+0.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm County on average 1.8 nights (-1.1 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+1.5 %).

708,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 61.0 percent were domestic, and 39.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm County on average 1.8 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.08).

Registered accommodation sales in June were 1.2 billion crowns (+113.3 million).

Registered January-June sales were 5.5 billion crowns and they increased 331.0 million crowns from the previous year.
