Paid bed nights

254,000 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 254,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm County (-76.8 %), of which 210,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 44,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 71 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 88 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 77 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from India (9,300 nights).

65,400 rooms (-79.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 84,500 rooms (-77.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 1.9 million registered bed nights (-28.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 761,000 (-42.5 %) for foreigners in Stockholm County, in total 2.7 million (-33.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 20.1 percent

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (-70.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-65.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 114,000 nights (-88.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm County out of total registered bed nights was 20.1 % (-5.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 18.2 % and foreign bed nights 39.2 %.

Length of stay increased 29 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. In Stockholm County, length of stay in April was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+16.7 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm County on average 2.3 nights (+3.1 %) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+3.5 %).

102,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 82 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.9 percent were domestic, and 11.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm County on average 2.3 nights (+0.55) and foreigners 3.9 nights (+1.6).
