335,000 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 335,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm County (-77.0 %), of which 278,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 56,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 70 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 89 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 77 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from India (9,700 nights).

91,400 rooms (-77.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 101,000 rooms (-79.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 2.2 million registered bed nights (-39.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 817,000 (-55.5 %) for foreigners in Stockholm County, in total 3.0 million (-45.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 14.9 percent

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (-58.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (-49.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 176,000 nights (-86.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm County out of total registered bed nights was 14.9 % (-12.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 13.5 % and foreign bed nights 32.1 %.

Length of stay increased 30 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. In Stockholm County, length of stay in May was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm County on average 2.2 nights (+6.2 %) and foreigners 3.7 nights (+6.2 %).

140,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 82 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.1 percent were domestic, and 10.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm County on average 2.2 nights (+0.56) and foreigners 3.7 nights (+1.5).
