446,000 registered bed nights

In March 2021, 446,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm County (-13.9 %), of which 369,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 77,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased four percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 42 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 14 percent from last year's March.

140,000 rooms (-2.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 145,000 rooms (-26.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 986,000 registered bed nights (-42.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 230,000 (-67.8 %) for foreigners in Stockholm County, in total 1.2 million (-49.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 15.4 percent

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm County out of total registered bed nights was 15.4 % (-3.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 13.8 % and foreign bed nights 35.4 %.

Length of stay increased 22 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 22 percent compared to earlier year. In Stockholm County, length of stay in March was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm County on average 2.1 nights (+27.6 %) and foreigners 3.6 nights (+56.2 %).

195,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 29 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.0 percent were domestic, and 11.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm County on average 2.1 nights (+0.38) and foreigners 3.6 nights (+1.2).
