Registered bed nights increased four percent (January)

In January 2024, 557,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (+4.2 %), of which 372,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 184,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's January.

189,000 rooms (+1.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 179,000 rooms (+8.5 %) by business visitors.

Total of 3.2 million registered bed nights (-0.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-3.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 706,000 nights (+10.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm out of total registered bed nights was 17.6 % (+0.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 15.2 % and foreign bed nights 26.1 %.

302,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (January)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 72.2 percent were domestic, and 27.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 1.7 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.14).

979,000 air travelers (September 2023)

The airport received a total of 979,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased one percent.

Of local passengers, 83.6 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 16.4 %.

In addition, there were 1.0 million passengers departing the airport (-0.1 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 2.0 million (-0.3 %).
