Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In June 2019, 1.0 million bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (+8.7 %), of which 512,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 496,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and foreign bed nights decreased less than one percent. In total, bed nights increased nine percent from last year's June.

329,000 rooms (+23.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 255,000 rooms (-2.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 2.7 million bed nights (+11.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2.0 million (-1.6 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 4.7 million (+5.4 %) nights.

Market share 14.2 percent

Total of 7.1 million bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm out of total bed nights was 14.2 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 10.2 % and foreign bed nights 23.9 %.

481,000 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 54.4 percent were domestic, and 45.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 2.0 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-0.05).

Registered January-June sales were 4.1 billion SEK and they increased 156.0 million euro from the previous year.
