Registered bed nights increased 108 percent

In April 2021, 240,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (+108.4 %), of which 188,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 51,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 116 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 85 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 108 percent from last year's April.

86,600 rooms (+124.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 69,600 rooms (+81.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 692,000 registered bed nights (-35.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 207,000 (-65.9 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 900,000 (-46.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 9.4 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm out of total registered bed nights was 9.4 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 8.1 % and foreign bed nights 23.5 %.

110,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 135 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.9 percent were domestic, and 14.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 2.0 nights (-0.22) and foreigners 3.3 nights (-0.42).

127,000 air travelers

The airport received a total of 127,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 350 percent.

Of local passengers, 64.1 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 35.9 %.

In addition, there were 117,000 passengers departing the airport (+513.8 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 244,000 (+418.6 %).

Registered accommodation sales in April were 128.7 million SEK (+65.0 million).

Registered January-April sales were 469.0 million SEK and they decreased 855.0 million euro from the previous year.
