Stockholm: Tourism in a nutshell
115,000 registered bed nights
In April 2020, 115,000 bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (-84.8 %), of which 87,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 27,700 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 80 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 91 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 85 percent from last year's April.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from India (5,000 nights).
38,600 rooms (-84.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 38,400 rooms (-83.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 1.1 million bed nights (-34.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 609,000 (-44.4 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 1.7 million (-38.7 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

46,900 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 88 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 84.1 percent were domestic, and 15.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 2.2 nights (+0.4) and foreigners 3.7 nights (+1.4).
28,000 air travelers
The airport received a total of 28,000 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 98 percent.
Of local passengers, 76.2 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 23.8 %.
In addition, there were 19,000 passengers departing the airport (-98.3 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 47,100 (-97.9 %).

Registered accommodation sales in April were 63.7 million SEK (-514.4 million).
Registered January-April sales were 1.3 billion SEK and they decreased 890.0 million euro from the previous year.
