Registered bed nights increased 52 percent (September)

In September 2022, 825,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (+51.7 %), of which 519,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 306,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 33 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 97 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 52 percent from last year's September.

278,000 rooms (+43.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 270,000 rooms (+70.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 4.2 million registered bed nights (+64.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2.6 million (+181.2 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 6.8 million (+95.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.6 million registered bed nights (+12.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (+7.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 964,000 nights (+33.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm out of total registered bed nights was 18.1 % (+4.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 14.4 % and foreign bed nights 31.8 %.

421,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (September)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 57 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 68.9 percent were domestic, and 31.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 1.8 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-0.2).

2.0 million air travelers (August)

The airport received a total of 2.0 million passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 100 percent.

Of local passengers, 82.1 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 17.9 %.

In addition, there were 1.3 million passengers departing the airport (+88.3 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 1.1 million (+99.1 %).
