Registered bed nights increased six percent
In August 2019, 1.2 million bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (+5.9 %), of which 590,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 606,000 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 15 percent and foreign bed nights decreased one percent. In total, bed nights increased six percent from last year's August.
398,000 rooms (+17.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 244,000 rooms (-2.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 3.9 million bed nights (+12.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3.2 million (-2.4 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 7.1 million (+5.1 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

537,000 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 54.7 percent were domestic, and 45.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 2.0 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.01).
1.4 million air travelers
The airport received a total of 1.4 million passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased four percent.
Of local passengers, 80.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 20.0 %.
In addition, there were 1.2 million passengers departing the airport (-4.1 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 2.6 million (-3.9 %).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 950.4 million SEK (+88.1 million).
Registered January-August sales were 5.7 billion SEK and they increased 246.0 million euro from the previous year.
