Registered bed nights increased three percent
In July 2019, 1.2 million registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (+3.4 %), of which 561,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 594,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased six percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's July.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (90,000 nights).
397,000 rooms (+16.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 161,000 rooms (-11.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and July, 3.3 million registered bed nights (+12.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2.6 million (-2.6 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 5.9 million (+5.0 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 51.4 percent were domestic, and 48.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 2.1 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.12).
1.3 million air travelers
The airport received a total of 1.3 million passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased four percent.
Of local passengers, 83.5 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 16.5 %.
In addition, there were 1.3 million passengers departing the airport (-3.9 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 2.7 million (-4.1 %).

Accommodation sales 640.8 million crowns
Registered accommodation sales in July were 640.8 million crowns (+1.3 million).
Registered January-July sales were 4.7 billion crowns and they increased 155.0 million crowns from the previous year.

Domestic visitors and their consumption
The number of domestic visitors in July was 953,000 (+14.4 %). Out of them 452,000 were on a daytrip and 501,000 stayed at least for one night.
The cumulative number of domestic visitors between January and July was 6.0 million (+12.4 %).
Total consumption of these visitors in Stockholm in July was 1.5 billion crowns (1,619 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 1.2 billion crowns and day visitors 349.6 million crowns. Between January and July the consumption was 12.9 billion crowns.
The figures are estimates and based on TAK Domestic Tourism Research results and accommodation statistics. Coefficients of number of daily visitors and overnight visitors are calculated regional and monthly level.
