Registered bed nights increased four percent

In November 2019, 815,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Stockholm (+3.7 %), of which 549,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 266,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased four percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's November.

258,000 rooms (+14.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 290,000 rooms (+0.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 5.5 million registered bed nights (+10.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4.2 million (-2.5 %) for foreigners in Stockholm, in total 9.7 million (+4.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.6 million registered bed nights (+3.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.9 million nights (+5.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 731,000 nights (-6.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Stockholm out of total registered bed nights was 22.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 18.9 % and foreign bed nights 36.3 %.

450,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 72.9 percent were domestic, and 27.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Stockholm on average 1.7 nights (+0.01) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.15).

1.1 million air travelers

The airport received a total of 1.1 million passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased eight percent.

Of local passengers, 71.8 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 28.2 %.

In addition, there were 1.0 million passengers departing the airport (-8.1 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 2.1 million (-7.9 %).

Registered accommodation sales in November were 755.2 million crowns (+41.3 million).

Registered January-November sales were 8.1 billion crowns and they increased 424.0 million crowns from the previous year.

The number of domestic visitors in November was 1.1 million (+7.1 %). Out of them 539,000 were on a daytrip and 535,000 stayed at least for one night.

The cumulative number of domestic visitors between January and November was 10.2 million (+11.4 %).

Total consumption of these visitors in Stockholm in November was 1.7 billion crowns (1,597 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 1.3 billion crowns and day visitors 434.3 million crowns. Between January and November the consumption was 20.7 billion crowns.
